We should ask Russia if war will end this year. Ukraine is ready for peace, - Trump
US President Donald Trump said that the US side's efforts to reach a peaceful settlement between Ukraine and Russia have already begun, but that the Kremlin should be asked whether it is ready for a peace agreement.
He said this at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Censor.NET reports.
Even before I became president, my team agreed on an agreement to end the fighting in the Gaza Strip... We will work to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine," he stressed.
Trump said that the war was a tragedy that had not been seen in decades.
"Thousands have died during this war, no one has seen anything like this since the Second World War. Millions of Ukrainians and Russians are suffering. It's time to put an end to this," he emphasises.
At the same time, he announced the launch of actions to end the war in Ukraine.
"Our efforts to reach a peaceful settlement between Russia and Ukraine, I hope, have already begun. It is very important to do so," Trump said.
