Since beginning of day 119 combat engagements have taken place, enemy attacks intensively in Pokrovsk direction but suffers significant losses - General Staff
There have been 119 combat engagements in the frontline since the beginning of the day. In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 63 offensives but suffered losses - 189 occupiers were killed and 190 more were wounded.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of 10 p.m. on January 23, Censor.NET reports.
Russia's strikes against Ukraine
The enemy launched two missile and 55 air strikes using five missiles and 86 GABs (guided aerial bombs), used 863 kamikaze drones for attacks, and fired over four thousand four hundred times at the positions of our troops and settlements using various types of weapons.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv direction, there was one combat engagement with Russian invaders in the area of Lyptsi.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy tried nine times to drive our units from their positions near Dvorichna, Zahryzove and Petropavlivka, and the fighting is still ongoing.
The situation in the East
The enemy attacked seven times in the Lyman direction, trying to advance near Yampolivka, Novoiehorivka, Zelenyi Hai and Kopanky.
In the Siversk direction, in the area of Ivano-Darivka and Bilohorivka, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made two assaults on the positions of our defenders. Hostile activity of the occupants was manifested in the area of Chasiv Yar.
In the areas of Dyliivka, Krymske, Shcherbynivka and Toretsk, the enemy tried to break into our defense in the Toretsk direction 12 times.
The enemy is intensively attacking Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction. The aggressor made 63 offensive attacks here during the day. Russian invaders are most active in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Myroliubivka, Myrnohrad, Promin, Lysivka, Vidrodzhennia, Uspenivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly and Yantarne, with one firefight still ongoing.
According to the information available at the moment, 189 invaders have been eliminated in this direction, and 190 more were wounded. One infantry fighting vehicle, nine vehicles, two motorized vehicles, five electronic warfare systems and eight UAV antennas were destroyed. In addition, the enemy's artillery system and satellite communications equipment were damaged.
The situation in the South
Seven enemy attacks were repelled by our defenders in the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked near Novodarivka, Kostiantynopil and Velyka Novosilka.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy made two assault actions, which were successfully repelled by our defenders.
The situation in the North
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 attacks by invading troops, and the enemy launched 24 air strikes, dropping 38 GABs, and fired 358 times at the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure in Russia.
The General Staff added that there were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
