DIU: Budanov’s "quote" from closed Rada meeting spread in media is not true

Budanov on threats to Ukraine’s existence

The alleged quote by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov from a closed, classified meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, spread in the media, is not true.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the official statement of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

"We call on all media representatives not to spread rumors, unverified and unconfirmed official information, especially on issues of defense in the war, which some politicians, unfortunately, can distort in their own interests, using journalists for this purpose," the statement reads.

The DIU also emphasizes that the dissemination of any reports about what is allegedly discussed at official meetings with the participation of the military and political leadership of the state is detrimental to the security of the state and is used by the enemy in their interests.

"Ukraine continues its armed struggle for independence - the war with Russia continues. The information dimension of the war is also of critical importance. We remind you of the martial law on the entire territory of our country," the DIU summarizes.

It should be noted that on January 27, media outlets cited sources as saying that Budanov had allegedly warned of a threat to Ukraine's existence if there were no negotiations.
