Iran has purchased Russian Su-35 fighters - Reuters
Iran has purchased a batch of Russian-made Su-35 fighter jets.
This was reported by Reuters with reference to a statement by Ali Shadmani, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Censor.NET reports.
It is noted that this is the first time an Iranian official has confirmed the purchase of Su-35.
Shadmani did not specify how many planes Tehran purchased and whether they have already been delivered to Iran.
"Whenever necessary, we make military purchases to strengthen our air, ground and naval forces. ... The production of military equipment has also accelerated," Reuters quoted Central Command Coordinator Khatam-ol-Anbia as saying.
As a reminder, on January 17, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Massoud Peseshkian signed a "comprehensive strategic partnership" agreement between the two countries in Moscow on January 17.
