Russian invaders continue to try to gain a foothold in the island area at the mouth of the Dnipro River.
Lieutenant Pavlo Drohal, spokesman for the Kherson operational and tactical group, said this during a briefing, Censor.NET reports.
"The Russian occupiers continue to try to gain a foothold in the island area at the mouth of the Dnipro River, launching artillery strikes at the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilian infrastructure," the spokesman said.
It is noted that between January 20 and January 26, the enemy carried out 529 attacks and launched three air strikes.
Drohal also said that 19 attempts by Russians to carry out assault operations were recorded. However, all enemy offensives were repelled by Ukrainian defenders.
The enemy losses amounted to 122 Russian occupants killed and wounded, as well as 51 pieces of weapons and military equipment.
