Umierov: $178 million from Sweden’s aid package will be allocated to support Ukraine’s defense industry within framework of "Danish model"

Part of the funds from Sweden’s largest-ever aid package will be allocated to support arms production in Ukraine under the so-called "Danish model."
This was announced by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umierov, as reported by Censor.NET.
"Sweden has unveiled a new largest-ever military aid package worth $1.2 billion. This is the largest military assistance package to Ukraine in the country’s history, providing critical resources for the frontline," he stated.
According to Umerov, $178 million will be directed toward supporting arms production in Ukraine within the framework of the ‘Danish model,’ including $90 million for long-range missiles and drones.
In addition, the aid package includes additional CB90 combat boats to strengthen the Ukrainian navy, anti-tank missiles, trucks, ammunition and other equipment necessary to defend Ukraine.
The Minister also thanked the government and people of Sweden for their strong support of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that Sweden is providing Ukraine with the largest military aid package worth $1.2 billion. It is the 18th since the start of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
What is the "Danish model"?
In 2024, Ukraine and Denmark launched a new mechanism for financing arms purchases for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, called the Danish model. It involves financing of Ukrainian defense companies by the Danish government. Ukraine compiles a list of projects that require funding, and Danish experts check the recommended companies, assess their capacity and experience in executing contracts.
