Lithuania has handed over MANPADS to Ukraine to strengthen air defense - Ministry of Defense

Negotiations with Russia are possible only after Ukraine’s victory

Lithuania has handed over a batch of short-range man-portable air defense systems with missiles to the Ukrainian army.

This was reported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense on the social network X (Twitter), Censor.NET reports.

"Lithuania continues to provide vital support to Ukraine's defense. A new delivery of modern man-portable air defense systems has arrived in Ukraine, strengthening its ability to withstand Russia's brutal aggression," the statement reads.

According to Delfi, this year Lithuania will focus on providing Ukraine with critical weapons, including air defense systems, ammunition, and drones. In addition, it will support the development of the Ukrainian defense industry by financing arms production in Ukraine.

Lithuania also plays a key role in the Mine Action Coalition, which it leads with Iceland, and participates in other international defense initiatives. Additionally, military assistance is provided through international funds, collective projects, as well as continued training of the Ukrainian military and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers.

It is noted that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth more than €767 million, and the total amount of support has already exceeded €1.5 billion.
