Russian special services use their diplomats and their relatives for sabotage in EU - Lipavsky

Jan Lipavsky on work of Russian special services in EU

An unprecedented network of Russian diplomats and their relatives has been created in the Schengen area, who are used by Russian special services to commit acts of sabotage in Europe.

According to Censor.NET, with reference to Evropeiska Pravda, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said this in an interview with Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland.

"The number of diplomats, their families, military personnel, and their families is currently at least 2,000 people. The exact number may be even higher, as these are only officially registered persons," he said.

According to the minister, the Czech Republic wants to take the initiative to restrict freedom of movement in the Schengen area. The goal is that Russian diplomats, their staff, and all relatives will have to apply for a visa if they want to travel from one EU country to another.

Lipawski would like to see these restrictions included in the 16th package of sanctions against Russia.

"We have to protect our population from Russian sabotage and prevent Russian diplomats from harming us," Lipavsky said.

As a reminder, representatives of the German security services noted that acts of sabotage carried out in Europe on the order of the Russian Federation are aimed at preventing the West from supporting Ukraine.
