Suspect in murder of TCR serviceman in Poltava region is remanded in custody without bail

On Monday, 3 February, the Pyriatyn District Court of Poltava Region remanded a suspect in the murder of a TCR serviceman in custody without bail.
This was reported by Suspilne from the courtroom, Censor.NET reports.
It is noted that in court, the prosecution filed a motion to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days from the date of detention. The prosecutor asked not to set bail. He argued that it was impossible to set bail due to the suspect's use of violence against the military.
According to journalists, the suspect's defence lawyer said that his client actively cooperated with the investigation. In particular, he testified to law enforcement officers, participated in an investigative experiment and reported the location of the weapon with which he wounded the TCR serviceman.
The suspect's lawyer also said in court that his client wanted to compensate the victims for moral and material damage. Therefore, the defence requested a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest without bail.
At the trial, the suspect, Vadym Kuzub, pleaded guilty. He said that he did not intentionally want to kill the soldier, but wanted to scare him and neutralise him.
The judge ruled on a 60-day detention without bail.
Earlier it was reported that two residents of Lubny and Poltava were served with a notice of suspicion of murdering a serviceman at a petrol station.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that on 1 February 2025, a serviceman of the RTCR, who was accompanying the mobilised, was shot dead at a petrol station in Pyriatyn. The attacker was later detained.
