Germany to provide Ukraine with Leopard, IRIS-T tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in 2025

67% of German citizens support the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and 27% are in favor of increased assistance.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Wahlen research group for ZDF frontal, Censor.NET reports.

The survey results show that two-thirds of Germans support military assistance to Ukraine. 27% of respondents are in favor of increasing the supply of weapons, 40% believe that support should remain at the current level, and another 27% are in favor of reducing it.

"For me, it is noteworthy that if we take together those who want to continue supporting Ukraine, we are 67%, which is a clear majority. This means that the fatigue of Ukraine, which politicians sometimes talk about, is not reflected in the population," said security expert Jana Pulerin of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

As noted, in the west of Germany, 70% of respondents support aid, of which 28% are in favor of increased military support. In the east of the country, support is lower - 53%, and only 20% are in favor of increasing aid.

Among the voters of the Green Party, the level of support is the highest: 45% of supporters are in favor of expanding military aid to Ukraine. In contrast, the voters of the Alternative for Germany (79%) and the Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance (52%) are dominated by opponents of military aid.
