Participant in Bucha massacre Mussagaleyev appointed deputy minister in government of Orenburg region of Russia

occupier Nursultan Mussagaleyev

Russian war criminal Nursultan Mussagaleyev, who was involved in the torture and shooting of civilians in Bucha, was appointed acting deputy minister of regional and information policy of the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to NV.

Mussagaleyev will, among other things, coordinate the work of public organisations in the Orenburg region "to support SMO participants [as the war against Ukraine is called in Russia], veterans and their families".

The governor of the region cynically noted the occupier's "professional skills and involvement in the region", as well as his "willingness to work for the benefit" of the region and its residents.

The official recalled that the killer of Bucha civilians, who was born in the Novosergievsky district of the Orenburg region, is "a hero of Russia, a holder of three orders of courage, and was also awarded the medal of the Order for Merit to the Fatherland, II class, with swords".

In May 2024, Mussagaleyev became a participant in the "Time of Heroes" propaganda project in Russia. The training programme was initiated by Russian dictator Putin, who decided to form the so-called "true elite in Russia".

On 4 April 2023, the SSU established that Mussagaleyev, a company commander of the 104th Air Assault Regiment of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division of the Russian Federation, arrived in the Bucha district as part of the Russian occupation groups to prepare for an offensive against Kyiv. According to the SSU, during his stay in the community, the occupier took part in suppressing the resistance movement and intimidating residents of the region. In particular, he gave an order to torture a 29-year-old local resident who was driving a car through an enemy checkpoint. The Ukrainian was taken to the forest and then shot dead. Mussagaleyev and two of his accomplices were notified of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war.
