Trump spoke on phone with Putin about ending war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to try to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.
Trump said this in an exclusive interview with The Post on board Air Force One, Censor.NET reports citing The New York Post.
"I'd rather not say," Trump replied when asked how many times they spoke on the phone.
But for some reason, he believes that Putin allegedly "cares" about killing on the battlefield.
"He wants people to stop dying," Trump is convinced.
"All these dead people. Young, young, good people. They are like your children, two million of them - and for no reason," he added.
Trump reiterated that there would be no full-scale war in Ukraine if he were president in 2022, Trump said.
"I've always had a good relationship with Putin," he said.
"Biden was an embarrassment to our nation. A complete embarrassment," Trump also added.
In addition, he said that he has a specific plan to end the war.
I hope it is quick. People are dying every day. This war is so bad in Ukraine. I want to end the damn thing," he assured.
Turning to National Security Advisor Mike Volz, Trump said: "Let's get these meetings started."
"They want to meet. People are dying every day. Young beautiful soldiers are dying. On both sides. All over the battlefield," the US president summarized.
As a reminder, on February 7, US President Donald Trump said he was likely to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy next week. Zelenskyy later announced talks with Trump's team. Zelenskyy also wants Trump to meet with him first and then with Putin.
