Ukrainian army, with 110 brigades, is holding back Russian army twice its size, with 220 brigades - Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that as of today, the Ukrainian army consists of 110 brigades, while Russia has 220 brigades on its side.

He said this in an interview with The Guardian, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, the Ukrainian army consists of 110 combat brigades, and this is a lot. 100 brigades plus is a very serious army. Russia has 220, and they will be approaching 250 in 2025. That is, their army is twice as large," Zelenskyy said.

As noted, there are currently approximately 82 combat brigades in Europe, including the US troops present there.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainian troops, despite their smaller numbers, are holding back the much larger Russian army, noting that the ratio is one to two.

"For an effective offensive, it is necessary to have at least one to three troops," the president added.

From his point of view, without Ukraine's participation, Russia would have a much greater advantage in the balance of power, which could seriously threaten the security of Europe.

"So, if there is no Ukraine, you will realize that Russia has one to three to Europe," Zelenskyy said.
