West has not provided Ukraine with enough support - Hodges

Hodges says the West does not support Ukraine enough

Former U.S. Commander in Europe Ben Hodges says he was wrong in his prediction that Ukraine would be able to de-occupy Crimea by the summer of 2023.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.

"Yes, I was wrong. The West, we failed to give Ukraine what we had. This is the bottom line. If we had delivered everything we promised or needed on time, and if we had used all our economic tools, we would be in a different situation today," he explained.

The general noted that after 11 years of war, Russia still controls only a small part of Ukraine's territory, which cannot be called a "victory."

"So, I think, I feel that the Russians are in a lot of trouble right now, that it's hard for them," Hodges added.

He disagrees that since the end of winter 2023, time has been somewhat lost to deliver sufficient aid to liberate the peninsula.

Hodges recalled the history of the US revolution, which began in 1775, followed by 6-7 years of fighting, and the revolutionaries "didn't win a single battle until, I think, the last one" despite the fact that George Washington's army was very small.

"It was terrible, of course, it was devastating, it was very difficult, but they never stopped. And that's why I think I'm much more optimistic than you are," he added.
