The United States wants to please Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
According to Censor.NET, citing DW, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said this in the popular talk show "Meishberger" on the German TV channel ARD.
"Donald Trump's conciliatory statements about the Kremlin are aimed at ‘quick success’. But what they want - a ‘simple ceasefire’ - is not success. We will not sign anything just to be applauded," Zelenskyy stressed.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine called ‘very general’ the statements of US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth about the impossibility for Ukraine to achieve access to the internationally recognised borders of the country by military means.
"The Secretary of Defence needs to go deeper into the details. I think he needs time to do that," the Ukrainian leader said.
He also noted: "There will definitely be no victory for Ukraine without the support of the United States."
As a reminder, US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth explained that by questioning Ukraine's return of the territories seized by Russia and its accession to NATO, he meant to ‘bring realism to the conversation’ about possible peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
