Canada, US and Europe should provide Ukraine with security guarantees – Joly
Ukraine needs reliable security guarantees as part of any agreement to end the war to stop Russia from invading again.
This was stated by Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.
"We know very well that President Putin has no red lines and that after Ukraine, it could certainly be an attack on NATO territory," said Joly.
She added that Ukraine should be at the negotiating table.
The minister noted that it is important for Canada, the United States and Europe to provide Ukraine with security guarantees.
"We would not want to find ourselves in a situation where there is essentially a ceasefire, a short-lived peace, and Russian troops leave Ukrainian territory, reorganize and invade Ukraine again. We would be in an even more dangerous situation than we are today," explained Joly.
