China supports all efforts aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine - Wang Yi

China now sees an impetus for peace talks to end the war in Ukraine and supports efforts to establish peace.
This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a meeting of the UN Security Council, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"The Ukrainian crisis (as China calls Russia's war against Ukraine - Ed.) has been going on for almost three years and continues to escalate," Wang Yi said.
However, he now sees a growing trend toward finding ways to end the conflict.
"Recently, the impetus to seek dialogue and negotiations on the conflict in Ukraine has been growing," the Chinese top diplomat said.
According to him, from the very beginning of the "crisis," Beijing has been advocating negotiations and a political settlement based on four principles: respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, adherence to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, the use of peaceful methods to resolve differences, and consideration of the "legitimate security concerns" of each party.
"China supports all efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine and will continue to cooperate with other countries, especially those in the Global South, to hear more objective, balanced, and rational opinions to reach a consensus on ending the conflict and paving the way for peace," the Chinese minister said.
Earlier, Wang Yi said that China hopes for a fair peace agreement on Ukraine.
