Blow to Ukraine and boost for Putin: US media reaction to Trump’s statements

The US media reacted to Donald Trump's statements on Ukraine and Russia.
This was reported by "Voice of America" journalist Ostap Yarysh, Censor.NET informs.
For example, Yarysh took materials from three liberal and three conservative media outlets from yesterday.
"ABC News: "Donald Trump falsely claims Ukraine started war with Russia".
NewsMax: "Trump is disappointed in Ukraine: You shouldn't have started the war. The president responded to complaints from Kyiv that Ukraine was not part of the negotiations." (Last week, this channel also aired an interview with Zelensky, with the main message being nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine).
FOX News: A journalist asked Trump if he would support Russia's demand for elections in Ukraine. After he answered, she stressed that there are no real elections in Russia and asked how the US would make sure that the Kremlin would not install a puppet regime in Kyiv.
CNN: "Another blow to Ukraine and a boost for Putin... Donald Trump says Zelensky's approval rating is at 4%. The latest polls show a decline in Zelensky's popularity, but not to the depths Trump is talking about."
The New York Post: "President Trump's demand that Ukraine hand over a huge part of its economy in return for aid is absolutely wrong. Period." (Editorial).
The New York Times: "Trump's pivot to Putin's Russia is changing generations of US policy. America is giving the impression that it can switch sides," he said.
The journalist noted that the liberal media is currently criticising "the administration for everything and will be more vocal in their statements".
"Traditionally, the Republican-friendly media are not so harsh in their wording, but in the materials I have seen, they present Ukraine's position and conduct fact-checking, if necessary," he added.
