Ukraine’s size will depend on number of people ready to defend it - Zaluzhnyi

The state should not stand aside from the Armed Forces.
This was stated by the former commander-in-chief of the AFU, Ambassador Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"I am somehow sure that the size of Ukraine will depend on how many people will be ready to defend it, which means that if we come directly to the conduct of the war itself now, you have to be very, very careful," he said.
According to Zaluzhnyi, the state should not stand apart from the Armed Forces.
The ambassador explained that the most important thing for the Ukrainian armed forces is the number of prepared mobilisation resources and the number of people ready to take up arms in case of an emergency, as was the case in 2022, and stand up for their defence.
At the same time, he is not ready to talk about the exact number because calculations need to be made for that.
"Perhaps now it is possible to make calculations and you and I will realise that even half of what we have will be enough," he explained.
At the same time, the ex-head called the most important factor the amount of prepared mobilisation resource for a long war.
"From the point of view of the state, I would look more at Ukraine directly as a mobilisation resource for defence, rather than the number that is in the AFU, which, by the way, will depend on many factors," Zaluzhnyi concluded.
