Russian unit made unsuccessful attempt to advance toward Ukraine’s state border in Kursk region – General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied that Russian troops are advancing from Kursk region into the territory of Ukraine.
This was reported by the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Dmytro Lykhovii, Censor.NET reports.
"Against the backdrop of the general bad mood in our social networks, Russians are trying to spread additional fake news, in particular regarding some breakthroughs in the Ukrainian defense in the Kursk region and a massive infiltration into the territory of Ukraine. This is not true.
As of 3 p.m. on February 19, 12 military clashes were recorded in the Kursk region since the beginning of the day, three of which were still ongoing (the rest have been repelled). One of the repulsed attacks, at about six in the morning, was an attempt by a Russian unit to advance towards the state border of Ukraine at the Nikolayevo-Daryino-Zhuravka section," the statement said.
According to him, the attempt was unsuccessful.
"There is no reason to panic. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct a defensive operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, destroying the enemy and holding several hundred square kilometers of the territory of the aggressor country.
Don't be fooled by enemy psychological operations—supporting and strengthening the Ukrainian army is our strongest negotiating position," Lykhovii concluded.
As a reminder, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russian troops allegedly crossed the border into Ukraine in the Kursk region.
