Ukraine disrupt agreement of rare earth metals with US - Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukraine had scuttled the rare earth metals deal. The agreement was needed so that the United States could return the funds spent on supporting Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing Suspilne, he said this during a speech.
The US leader said that the United States has spent "$200 billion more than Europe" to support Ukraine.
He explained that "Europe gives money under guarantees" and receives money back, "it's a form of loan." At the same time, the United States "just gives money" without getting anything back.
"The United States has spent $200 billion more than Europe. Europe's money is guaranteed, they get their money back. It's a form of loan... We're just giving away our money, and we had an agreement on rare earth metals and other things, but they (Ukraine - Ed.) broke that agreement. They violated it two days ago," Trump said.
Trump emphasized that the former US administration, in his opinion, was ineffective in its economic policy, allowing European countries to benefit financially.
As a reminder, Trump has said that he wants to sign a $500 million deal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on access to rare earth resources and natural gas in Ukraine in exchange for security guarantees in any potential peace settlement.
President Zelenskiy said that the agreement with the US on minerals would be signed at the ministerial level when ready and subject to guarantees. Currently, this document is not ready to protect Ukraine's interest.
