Finland supports Ukraine by all possible means - Stubb

Finnish President Criticizes Trump’s Statements

Finnish President Alexander Stubb strongly disagrees with the statements of US President Donald Trump.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Yle.

"Finland supports Ukraine by all possible means. Finland supports the Ukrainian constitution and the democratically elected President Volodymyr Zelenskyy," he emphasized.

"The war of aggression was started solely by Russia and President Putin. Our task is to discuss with Trump what the consequences will be if Putin gets his way," Stubb said.

He believes that the most important task for Europe now is to convince the United States that Ukraine cannot lose the war.

Trump's statements about Zelenskyy's rating

The day before, Trump said that Ukraine needed to hold elections because Zelenskyy's approval rating had dropped to 4%.

As of the first half of February 2025, 57% of Ukrainians trust President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while 37% do not, according to a KIIS study.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the statements about his 4% rating disinformation.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump called Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy a "dictator without elections" because he allegedly convinced America to "spend $350 billion on the war."
