Belgium postpones delivery of thirty F-16s to Ukraine for at least year

Belgium has postponed the delivery of 30 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine until at least the end of 2025, as the the United States has delayed the delivery of F-35s to replace its fleet.
According to Censor.NET, citing ZN.UA, this was stated by the head of the Belgian General Staff, Frederik Vansina, in an interview with Le Soir newspaper.
According to Vansina, this is due to the delay in the delivery of American F-35 aircraft to the country.
"The delivery of the first of 30 F-16s to Ukraine from Belgium is postponed for at least a year - until the end of 2025," he said.
The General added that the Belgian Air Force will reach full operational readiness to receive the US F-35 in 2027.
Belgium initially planned to deliver the F-16s in 2025. However, it later announced its desire to speed up the process and deliver the aircraft by the end of 2024. Nevertheless, the plan was not implemented.
Earlier, Kostenko said that the United States had suspended arms sales to Ukraine. All defence companies that were preparing to supply arms are awaiting a decision.
