"Istanbul Agreement" can become guideline for peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia, - Witkoff

US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff says that both Ukraine and Russia will have to make concessions to achieve peace.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to "Voice of America".
Vitkoff said that the United States had come "very close" to reaching a peace agreement to resolve the war in Ukraine.
However, the Special Representative did not specify the terms of such a potential agreement, but stressed that in any peace deal "each side is going to make concessions, whether it is territorial concessions or economic concessions".
"You will see concessions on both sides. And this is what the president does best. He unites people. He makes them understand that the way to peace is through concessions and consensus building. And I think you're going to see a very successful outcome here," Witkoff said.
According to him, the "Istanbul Protocol Agreement" can become "a guideline for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia".
"We came very, very close to signing something," the Special Representative assured.
The New York Times recently published a document that was discussed by Ukraine and Russia in the spring of 2022. The draft of the so-called peace agreement was not agreed upon.
