I spent lot of time with Putin, developing friendship - Witkoff

US Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Witkoff said that during his visit to Moscow to rescue American teacher Marc Fogel, he spent a lot of time with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and became friends with him.
According to Censor.NET, he was quoted by Sky News.
He noted that Fogel was released thanks to Trump's support and good relations with Saudi Arabia, whose representatives assured the United States that it was possible.
"I spent a lot of time with President Putin, talking, developing a friendship, a relationship with him and that led to Mark getting on the plane…," Witkoff said.
Earlier, the media reported that Trump had secretly instructed his envoy, Witkoff, to engage in peacemaking in Ukraine.
On 11 February, Donald Trump's representative, Steven Witkoff, flew to Moscow to pick up American Marc Fogel. Earlier on Tuesday, the media noted that a Gulfstream business jet owned by Witkoff and frequently used by Trump himself arrived in Moscow.
During his visit to Moscow, Trump's special envoy, Steven Witkoff, apparently had a more than 3-hour meeting with dictator Vladimir Putin.
