I do not believe Putin. I don’t think he wants peace in Ukraine - Frederiksen

Mette Frederiksen tells whether she trusts Putin

The United States is creating ‘very great uncertainty’ about the war in Ukraine, NATO and Europe.

According to Censor.NET, citing European Pravda, this was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

She stressed that she has doubts that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is seeking peace.

"I don't feel as confident about the Americans as I used to," Frederiksen said.

She noted that she never assumed that Donald Trump's second term would be the same as his first.

"But I think everyone is surprised by the speed with which uncertainty has been created on the American side, and we have to respond to that," the Prime Minister said.

While the US and President Trump have begun the process of ending the war in Ukraine, Frederiksen said she does not trust Putin and his intentions.

"I have to be honest and say that I don't trust Putin. I don't think he wants peace in Ukraine," she said.

"I understand that many people think that a peaceful solution or a ceasefire sounds like a good idea, but we risk that peace in Ukraine is actually more dangerous than the war that is happening now," Frederiksen said.

As a reminder, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to demonstrate ‘united leadership in support of Ukraine’ ahead of their trip to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump.
