Ukraine should become part of NATO, - Kallas
The best guarantee of security for Ukraine is NATO membership. This process should be irreversible.
This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas during a press conference after the EU Council meeting at the level of foreign ministers in Brussels on February 24, Censor.NET reports citing European Pravda.
The EU's top diplomat noted that Ukraine's membership in NATO is irreversible, and that membership is the best guarantee of security for Ukraine.
We agreed that Ukraine's path to NATO is... irreversible. We agreed on that. So, in the end, Ukraine should also be a part of NATO," Kallas said.
"The strongest guarantee of security, and actually the cheapest, is NATO membership," she emphasized.
According to Kallas, "if this (NATO membership - ed.) does not happen at the first stage, then all the countries that have provided security guarantees must answer the question about troops on the ground, about the supply of weapons, ammunition, to actually guarantee security."
