We hope to end war this year, not in three. It is very difficult for our nation – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine hopes to end the war this year and do everything to prevent Russia from attacking again in 10 years.
He said this during a meeting with foreign leaders and the media, Censor.NET reports.
"We hope that we can end this war this year. Not in three years (this is how long the full-scale phase of the war lasts - Ed.) It is very, very difficult. It is very difficult for our entire nation to go through this war, but [I say this] with all due respect to our soldiers and our people," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy noted that he could not talk about three years of continuing war and recalled the need for security guarantees for our country.
He noted that the Russians could attack again in 10 years if Ukraine is not ready, but the Kremlin will not do so if "we put pressure on them, put them in their place, on their territory."
According to the head of state, it will "help a lot" if Ukraine joins the European Union and NATO in the coming years.
"And I think they [Russians] will not come back if we have a strong army and strong allies and strong unity, in my opinion. Because they will never forgive the world that they did not win. And you can see that they will not win," Zelenskyy summarized.
