Trump wants to end war quickly, but Putin doesn’t want it, - Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed support for the idea of a speedy end to the war, but stressed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not interested in peace.
He said this during a press conference on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports.
"I understand President Trump: he wants to do it quickly, but this is not, you know, a dialog with someone. That is, he will have a lot of problems with Putin because he does not want to end the war," Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that the war should have been ended even earlier, but now it is important to focus on making Ukraine's victory final.
"If we could not (end it earlier - ed.), now we must focus on ending it without any possibility of returning the war," Zelenskyy emphasized.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump emphasizes the need to stop the war in Ukraine through a ceasefire or a direct transition to a peace agreement.
