Trump: US not going to provide too many security guarantees to Ukraine

Trump on security guarantees

US President Donald Trump said he was not going to give too many security guarantees to Ukraine.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Suspilne.

Trump made the statement during a government meeting at the White House on Wednesday, February 26.

"I'm not going to give security guarantees that go beyond the very large ones. We will ask Europe to do that... But we will do everything possible to make it go well, and as you know, we will cooperate with Ukraine in the field of rare earth elements. We really need rare earth elements. They have large reserves of rare earth elements," the US president said.

He emphasized that the minerals agreement is also beneficial to Ukraine from a security perspective.

"It's also a big advantage for Ukraine, because we're going to be working there, we're going to be on the ground, and you know, it's kind of an automatic security because nobody's going to mess with our people when we're there, and so we're going to be there, but Europe is going to be watching very closely," Trump said.
