France is in talks with Ukraine on mining for its defence needs, - Lecornu

French Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu said that Paris has been negotiating with Ukraine since October on the mining of Ukrainian minerals for the needs of the French defence industry.
This is reported by Franceinfo, Censor.NET informs.
According to the minister, France has been working on this topic for several months, starting in autumn 2024. Then, during his visit to Paris, Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned Ukraine's raw materials in the "Victory Plan".
Lecornu said that the Ukrainian president had made ‘a number of proposals not only to the United States but also to France’.
The minerals will be used to produce military equipment.
"Our defence industry will need some very key raw materials in our own weapons systems, not next year, but for the next 30 or 40 years," he said.
