I don’t think Putin will invade Ukraine again if peace deal is signed – Trump

US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump said that the peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is progressing.

He said this during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Censor.NET reports citing Reuters.

According to him, "the United States had good talks with both countries."

Trump says that it is impossible to talk about a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine because a ceasefire must be agreed upon.

"I will definitely try to get as much land back for Ukraine as possible. But there will be no Ukraine joining NATO," the US president said.

Also, the American president, commenting on his trust in Putin, said "trust but verify."

Trump added that ensuring security in Ukraine after the agreement is reached is the easy part, but the negotiation process itself is the most difficult.

At the same time, he does not think that Russian dictator Putin will invade Ukraine again if a peace agreement is signed, but he thinks that "Putin will keep his word."

"The agreement on rare earth resources will be a support for Ukraine," the agency quoted him as saying.
