Putin will have to make concessions in negotiations, - Trump

Trump says Putin will be forced to make concessions

US President Donald Trump has said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will have to make concessions in negotiations to end the war that Russia has launched against Ukraine.

The American leader said this during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Censor.NET reports.

The American leader was asked whether Russian dictator Vladimir Putin would have to make concessions during negotiations to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Trump replied that he would.

"He will do it. He will have to. And I think, I believe that because we were elected, this war will end. And I also believe that if we hadn't been elected, if this administration hadn't won the election with a large landslide, the war would have gone on for a long time," the White House chief said.

Trump also called Putin "a very smart but very cunning man".

In addition, the US president said that if he had not been elected, Putin "would have just continued to march through Ukraine, and over a period of time, many people would have been killed".

"If I hadn't won the election, he (Putin - ed.) would have continued his attack on Ukraine. A lot of people would have died over time," Trump said.

As a reminder, Trump said that Ukraine should forget about NATO membership.
