No signs that Russia is preparing for possible truce – Estonian General Staff

General Staff report

Over the past week, there have been no signs that Russia is preparing for a possible ceasefire, on the contrary, the occupiers are increasing the number of attacks to achieve better conditions for negotiations.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to ERR.

"In the first week of the fourth year of the war, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation did not achieve tactical advancement in any area of the front. According to open geolocation data, the offensive of Russian troops in the direction of Pokrovsk has completely stopped. The Ukrainian army was able to expand the defense line through local counterattacks," the Estonian Defense Forces' operational summary of the fighting in Ukraine reads.

Intensity of attacks by the RF Armed Forces

At the same time, the intensity of attacks by the Russian Armed Forces did not decrease. At the beginning of the month, the number of attacks dropped to 100 per day, but last week it averaged 103. The number of casualties among Russian troops also remains stable - from 1180 to 1200 per day. Russia continues to shell civilian objects in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

Is Russia preparing for a truce?

There are also no signs that Russia is preparing for a possible truce. According to open sources, there is speculation that Russia may intensify its offensive in the Kursk region to achieve more favorable conditions for negotiations. However, according to available data, Russia does not have the necessary balance of forces to achieve quick success in this region.

About the Pokrovsk direction

The Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region remains the main axis of attack, where about a third of all assaults take place. Russian troops are displaying less determination in their actions. They are probing for weaknesses in the Ukrainian defense in other sectors. Advances by the Russian Armed Forces have been recorded south of Pokrovsk, in the areas of Kostiantynopil and Andriivka. High activity also persists north of Velyka Novosilka, and to a lesser extent in the Luhansk and Kharkiv directions. The actions of the Russian Armed Forces are hindered by poor road conditions, which significantly limit their ability to maneuver.

"At the same time, Ukraine has again successfully struck at Russian energy infrastructure and targets in Crimea," the Estonian Armed Forces General Staff reported.
