Trump swore in conversation with Trudeau over new tariffs - media

During a conversation about the new tariffs with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, US President Donald Trump was actively swearing.

According to Censor.NET, CBS News reports this with reference to a Canadian official.

The official said that Trump repeatedly used profanity when discussing dairy products, which is a long-standing trade irritant for the United States. Trudeau did not use profanity, the official added.

Trump also showed considerable excitement when discussing fentanyl, the official said.

Trudeau emphasised that the US government's data on drug seizures at the border shows that this is not a serious problem and that Canada is doing everything possible to combat this drug, the official said.

It is noted that Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, who also took part in the phone call, reacted sharply to Trudeau's remarks, saying that drug seizures are not the right way to measure the problem. Trudeau responded that there was no other way to actually assess the problem quantitatively, the official said.

The conversation with Trump ended in a somewhat amicable manner, as Trump reported on social media.

Earlier, Trump said that Mexico should not pay duties on goods covered by the trade pact between the countries until 2 April.
