Ukraine received almost $ 1 billion from Britain at expense of frozen Russian assets

Ukraine has received the first payment of 752 million pounds (almost $1million) from the UK as part of the G7 loan.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his X (Twitter), Censor.NET reports.
These funds are secured by proceeds from frozen Russian assets and will be directed to strengthening the defence capacity of Ukraine.
"We will direct the funds to strengthen Ukrainian defence capability. Thanks to Keir Starmer, the UK government and our G7 partners for the mechanism that makes Russian funds work for Ukraine. We expect that all sovereign assets of the Russian Federation will be confiscated in the future and transferred in favour of our state," - Prime Minister said.
We shall remind you that the leaders of the G7 countries agreed on a mechanism for allocating $50bn in aid to Ukraine at the expense of using frozen Russian assets. The funds are planned to be allocated until the end of 2024, and the loan will be repaid from the proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
