56 combat engagements took place in frontline, 11 are still ongoing in Toretsk direction – General Staff
A total of 56 combat engagements took place since the beginning of the day. The enemy is attacking most of all in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of 4 pm on March 7, Censor.NET reports.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
Border settlements continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, in particular Ponomarenky in the Sumy region. In addition, the enemy conducted air strikes near the settlements of Rozsoshi and Popivka in Sumy region.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
Today Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks in the area of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction. The enemy launched an air strike near the town of Hraniv.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy is storming the positions of our defenders near Zahryzove, one combat engagement is currently underway.
Hostilities in the East
In the Lyman direction, the invading army attacked seven times, near Hrekivka, Torske and in the directions of Novyi and Novomykhailivka. Three firefights are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked twice near Bilohorivka and was repelled.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four invaders' attempts to advance in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Chasiv Yar, two more combat engagements have already ended. The enemy launched an air strike on Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked 13 times near Dyliivka, Druzhba, Dachne and Toretsk. Eleven combat engagements are still ongoing. Toretsk, Kleban-Byk and Kostiantynivka were hit by air strikes with guided bombs.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 11 attempts to drive our defenders out of their positions in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Oleksiivka, Andriivka and Ulakly. The defense forces are holding back the enemy's onslaught and repelled nine attacks, two firefights are still ongoing. Pokrovsk and Zvirove were hit by air strikes.
The situation in the South
Today, in the Novopavlivka direction, our troops repelled two enemy attacks near Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. The enemy fired at Kostiantynopol with FFARs (Free-Flight Aerial Rockets).
In the Huliaipole direction, the invaders launched an air strike on Zaliznychne.
At the moment, our troops are repelling two enemy attacks in the Orikhiv direction near the settlements of Stepove and Piatykhatky.
According to the General Staff, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions in the Huliaipole and Prydniprovske directions.
Kursk direction
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian attacks, and five more clashes are still ongoing. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has carried out 11 air strikes, dropped a total of 16 guided aerial bombs and 185 artillery shellings on the positions of our troops and settlements.
The situation did not change significantly in other frontline areas.
