Senator Graham says he will introduce bill for new sanctions against Russia to push Kremlin to negotiate

Graham to introduce bill to impose sanctions on Russia

US Senator from the Republican Party Lindsey Graham said that next week he would submit a bill to Congress on new sanctions against Russia.

The American lawmaker said this in an interview with Fox News Sunday, "Voice of America", reports, Censor.NET informs.

Graham said that the bill would impose sanctions on the banking and energy sectors of the Russian Federation.

"As for Russia, next week I will introduce sanctions against its banking and energy sectors to force them to the negotiating table. If they don't agree to a ceasefire and peace talks with the administration, we have to impose hellacious sanctions on them and I will introduce a bill to do so next week," Graham said.

The senator recalled US President Donald Trump's recent threat to increase economic and banking sanctions against Russia.

"I want the Russians to know that I don't mind talking to you about how to end this war, but you will be responsible for this war, and if the Russians don't come to the table, we have to increase sanctions, as President Trump has said," Graham added.

Earlier, US Senator from the Republican Party Lindsey Graham expressed confidence that additional sanctions would be imposed on Russia if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not support Donald Trump's peace initiatives.
