Canada will never be part of United States, - new PM Carney

The new leader of the Liberal Party and Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, said that "America is not Canada" and that his country will never be part of the United States.
His words are reported by Politico, Censor.NET informs.
"America is not Canada. And Canada will never, ever be part of America in any way, shape, or form. We didn't ask for this fight, but Canadians are always ready when someone else throws down the gauntlet," Carney said in his speech after being elected to office.
He also called US President Donald Trump's threats of tariffs an "economic and sovereign (debt - Ed.) crisis."
"Americans want our resources, our water, our land, our country. Think about it. If they succeed, they will destroy our way of life," Carney emphasized.
Previously, the politician was the governor of the central banks of Canada and the United Kingdom, and therefore now advocates dollar-for-dollar tariffs in response to US measures.
Justin Trudeau's successor has promised that one of his first tasks as prime minister will be to put Trump "on notice" about the US dependence on Canadian energy.
Like his predecessor, Carney warned that "all cards are on the table" when it comes to reducing such supplies.
Politico notes that during the campaign, Carney presented himself as a tough negotiator who could prevent the US president from achieving his goal of "dominating the hemisphere" by taking over Canada and Greenland.
He also promised to protect "language, culture and water" from Trump's encroachments.
