Occupiers planned to remotely blow up the National Police building in Mykolaiv
According to the investigation, the girl was supposed to leave an improvised explosive device (IED) disguised as a package near the administrative building.
At that moment, the occupiers planned to remotely detonate the IED together with the suspect, who was used solely as a "consumable".
Terrorist detained at the scene of planned terrorist attack
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the SSU and the National Police, the tragedy was averted, and the terrorist was detained red-handed when she arrived by taxi at the place of the planned terrorist attack.
During the searches at the scene, explosives with incendiary mixture and two mobile phones were seized from the detainee. The occupiers planned to use one of the gadgets for remote detonation, and the other for communication with the suspect.
It was established that the enemy's accomplice came to his attention when she was looking for quick money on Telegram channels. There, she was offered money in exchange for cooperation, and after agreeing, was provided with step-by-step instructions.
"Soon after, the girl took the explosives out of a pre-prepared cache and connected a mobile phone to it for remote activation.
To disguise the explosives, she put them in a household bag," the statement said.
Suspicion of the attacker
The SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 3 Article 15, Part 1 Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unfinished attempt to commit a terrorist act).
The offender is in custody without the right to be released on bail and faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
