Witkoff will become main channel of communication between US and Russia - Axios
Trump's Special Representative for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is likely to become the main channel of communication with Russia.
This is reported by Axios, Censor.NET reports.
A source confirmed that Witkoff plans to visit Moscow this week to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The meeting is scheduled to take place a few days after the talks between the US and Ukraine in Jeddah.
"Witkoff was supposed to attend the meeting with Ukrainian officials, but now it appears he will become the main channel of communication with Russia as part of the division of responsibilities within President Trump' s foreign policy and national security team," Axios writes.
This will be the second meeting between Witkoff and Putin. The first was in mid-February and lasted three hours.
Witkoff's visit to Moscow is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, but may change, in particular, depending on Putin's schedule.
