Brekelmans: Ukraine should not agree to peace that will lead to interwar period

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans said that Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should not conclude an agreement that would allow Russia to continue the threat of aggression.
He said this in an interview with The Guardian, Censor.NET reports.
"President Zelenskyy should not agree to a deal that will lead to some kind of interwar period when aggression is constantly looming on the horizon," Brekelmans said.
The minister also emphasized that Vladimir Putin continues to seek to restore the "Russian world" and expand the territory of the Russian Empire. Brekelmans noted that this is "a dream for Putin, but a nightmare for Europe" and called for Putin to realize that his imperial ambitions have no real basis.
The Dutch minister said that despite the brutality of the war, Ukraine should not stop fighting.
"No matter how brutal this war has become, Ukrainians cannot be silenced. They cannot be forced to obey. Ukrainians are fighting on the front lines of our freedom and security against Russian tyranny and aggression. This is the front line of Europe's freedom and security," Brekelmans said.
