Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin has no intention to compromise on demands on land, peacekeepers and Ukraine’s neutrality in any peace talks, complicating President Donald Trump’s efforts to secure a credible settlement.

Thus, Putin deliberately puts forward "maximalist" demands on the eve of negotiations to end the war, which he knows are unlikely to be accepted by Ukrainians and Europeans.
Bloomberg's sources said that the Russian dictator is ready to continue fighting if he fails to achieve his goals.
According to the newspaper, the assessment of Putin's intentions casts doubt on his seriousness about negotiating a real and lasting peace with Ukraine. It also contradicts Trump's views, who has said he believes Putin wants peace.
Last week, Bloomberg wrote that Russia expressed its readiness to discuss a temporary truce under certain conditions, including the composition of any peacekeeping force. The Russian Federation has also long demanded Ukraine's "neutrality" and international recognition of Moscow's "claims" to the occupied territories, etc.
Western security officials believe that Putin sees no incentive to back off his hard-line positions.
