Britain and France discuss possible strikes on Russian targets if Moscow breaks ceasefire - Associated Press

European peacekeepers, who are planned to be deployed in Ukraine in the event of an end to the war, may be allowed to attack Russian troops if they violate the ceasefire agreement.
As Censor.NET informs, the Associated Press writes about this.
As the publication notes, the option of attacking Russian facilities is being considered by the leaders of the coalition to provide security guarantees for Ukraine.
The Western official specified that this involves "direct and immediate strikes on Russian facilities," which would be a response to the Kremlin's attempt to resume hostilities. According to him, the plan of Paris and London involves the formation of a contingent with sufficient military power to deter Russia from "a new attack on Ukraine."
A French military official confirmed the information. He said that the plans are to provide the mission with heavy equipment and weapons supplies, which will be transferred within a few hours or days to help Ukraine in the event of any violation of the ceasefire by the Russian Federation. According to one proposal, troops would be stationed at key infrastructure sites - such as nuclear power plants - and supported by Western aviation and the navy.
As for the front line, it would be controlled remotely - using drones and other technologies.
As a reminder, the UK and France are trying to strengthen Ukraine's position in the negotiations, while US President Donald Trump is seeking a settlement of the war with Russia.
