Trump on Witkoff’s meeting with Putin: "There was no expectation"

U.S. President Donald Trump has denied the information in the U.S. media about the"nine-hour wait" for his special envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow on March 13.
He wrote about this on his social network Truth Social, Censor.NET reports.
"Fake News, as always, is at it again! Why can't they be honest for once? Last night I read that Russian President Vladimir Putin kept my distinguished ambassador and special envoy Steve Witkoff waiting for over nine hours when there was no actual wait," Trump wrote.
According to him, other meetings with other representatives of Russia "took place," and apparently they took some time but were "very productive."
"After that, everything went quickly and efficiently, and all the signals are hopefully very good! In conclusion, there was no nine-hour wait, or no wait at all! The only reason they (the media - ed.) made up this story is to try to humiliate themselves because they are sick degenerates who need to start reporting the news correctly. That's why they lost their ratings, their audience and their respect," he added.
The day before, Sky News reported that US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff had to wait eight hours for a meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow on March 13, when he was urgently meeting with self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Earlier it was reported that on March 13, the plane of Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff had already landed in Moscow at Vnukovo airport.
Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin has sent US President Donald Trump his proposal for a ceasefire in the war against Ukraine.
