Trump’s conversation with Putin may take place next week - Witkoff

The United States reported that a conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may take place next week.
According to Censor.NET, citing RBC-Ukraine, this was reported in an interview with CNN by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
Thus, when asked about the timing of the agreement, in particular, whether it is a matter of weeks or possibly months, Vitkoff said that President Trump uses the term "weeks," and he does not intend to argue with him.
He also expressed hope that real progress would be made on this issue in the near future.
"I believe that everyone should focus on the progress that has been made since the inauguration of the president. No one expected such rapid progress," he added.
Witkoff noted that the situation with the war in Ukraine is extremely complicated, but, according to him, the United States is still closing the gap between the two sides.
"There are still many issues to discuss, but I think the two presidents will have a really good and constructive conversation this week," he said.
As a reminder, the US president said on his social media account that the US side had "very good and productive discussions" with Vladimir Putin.
As you know, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow the day before.
