U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff said that, in his opinion, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has made it clear that he accepts U.S. President Donald Trump's philosophy on ending the war in Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing RBC-Ukraine, Witkoff said this during a CNN interview.
He emphasized that all parties should be ready to negotiate in order to achieve peace.
"I don't want to put words in President Putin's mouth, but I think he has made it clear that he accepts President Trump's philosophy. President Trump wants to see an end to this. I think President Putin wants to see an end to this," Mr.Witkoff said.
According to him, there are ongoing battles between Ukrainian and Russian troops on the front line, particularly on the 2,000-kilometer border, and the situation in the Kursk region is also important.
"There is the Kursk region, which is also important to think about in this context. These are all details that need to be resolved at the negotiating table, and I think all parties are committed to this," he added.
Earlier it was reported that a conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin could take place next week.
