Ukraine ready to consider easing sanctions against Russia as part of peace deal - Politico

Ukraine may consider easing sanctions against Russia if it contributes to the achievement of justice and security under the peace agreement.
This was stated by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Censor.NET reports citing Politico.
According to him, economic restrictions against Russia should serve not only as a punishment but also as a tool to end the war.
"These sanctions might be pushing Russia to stop its aggression and to make them make a deal on lasting peace, rather than simply being a punishment of any kind," Vlasiuk said.
He noted that a return to business relations with Russia is possible only after Moscow takes real steps towards ending the war. Sanctions should be used to force Russia to negotiate.
Vlasiuk also stressed that Kyiv is seeking compensation for the suffering Ukrainians have endured as a result of the war.
