Information about advance of Russian units deeper into Sumy region is not true – General Staff

The situation on the border of Sumy region with Kursk region of the Russian Federation is under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The information circulating on social media about the advance of Russian troops deep into the territory of the Sumy region is not true.
Censor.NET reports this with reference to the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is reported that Russian occupiers are attempting to infiltrate certain settlements along the Ukrainian border in small groups. The enemy is swiftly eliminated by firepower thanks to coordinated actions and a pre-established defense system.
"Our defenders are successfully repelling all attempts by the invaders to establish a foothold in the Sumy region. The enemy is suffering heavy losses in personnel. The Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to reinforce our military grouping with additional equipment and reserves. Ukrainian forces also continue to maintain positions in the Kursk region," the statement reads.
At the same time, the enemy continues to exert information and psychological pressure, spreading its propaganda narratives to discredit the military command and spread panic and disbelief in Ukrainian society.
The General Staff emphasises that one should trust only official sources and verify information.
