4306 Ukrainians have already been brought back from Russian captivity – Lubinets

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 4306 Ukrainians have been brought back from Russian captivity.

This was announced on Telegram by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, Censor.NET reports.

"The 62nd exchange of POWs took place: 175 of our Heroes have been brought back to Ukraine. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 4306 Ukrainians have been brought back," Lubinets said, commenting on the prisoner exchange that took place on March 19.

According to him, among those released from Russian captivity: 22 defenders returning home due to measures outside the exchange, soldiers of the Armed Forces, Navy, National Guard, Territorial Defense Forces and Border Guard. They defended Ukraine in different areas - in Mariupol, at Azovstal, in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Kursk regions.

The Commissioner also reminded that Ukrainians who brought back from captivity have a number of rights. These include social guarantees for medical care and psychological rehabilitation, renewal of documents, and one-time financial assistance.

"In case of any violations of their rights, former prisoners can contact our Office," emphasized Lubinets.

POW swap on March 19

As a reminder, on March 19, Ukraine brought back 175 POWs from Russian captivity, as well as 22 severely wounded defenders.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that 197 of our defenders returned home on March 19 as part of the prisoner exchange. Among them are 166 common soldiers and sergeants.
